Bedroom Closets!

Hello my friends! I hope you have had a great weekend and a great Valentines Day. For me, January and February are two months that seem to drag and drag. I just cannot wait for February to be over— once we hit March it means Spring is near.

So let’s talk organizing... I am a complete anti clutter, neat freak, and I think this started from having parents (who are great!) who hoard. I grew up with so much stuff just everywhere I looked, that now I think I now have a visceral reaction to messes and cannot stand clutter. Lately people have been asking me if there is anything to help with some of their “mess”. There are so many companies now that have products to help with this, and if you are handy, often you can DIY. Home Depot, The Container Store, Ikea and many more, have offerings that you can put together yourself, once you know what you want! (Or they can help you with that as well). I’m going to focus this blog entirely on bedroom closets, because this blog could go in forever if we encompassed other topics.

OK So lets talk storage compartments— yes, these all cost money, extra money on top, but they are WORTH IT! When we start wearing pants again, having pants hangers is absolutely incredible, and stops your pants from wrinkling. Having a jewelry organizing drawer is a game changer for finding what jewelry you want to wear to match your outfit. And folding your clothes the Marie Kondo way really does help you to see what you have in those drawers. See below for some images for ideas. You can get so many great organizers at Ikea for a great price!!!

Now for the actual closet design itself, the possibilities are truly endless. It all depends on how much you are willing to spend, and if you plan on having parties in this space or not. If you plan on having a girls night with champagne, you may want to go big, and select materials that will stand out for your floors and ceiling, and select a chandelier that works with your style. There is a great article in Elle Decor with some tips from designer Lisa Adams. She has great tips like including a trash can, making a rule that your clothes always go back on the hanger, and purging regularly. Check out some closet ideas that may inspire your next project!

If you have any closet renos you are proud of, please share with me!!!! I’d love to see what you have done!!! And….. Happy Monday!
