What’s coming, what’s going

Hello my friends! When I started writing this blog, I honestly didn’t think people would read it— but so many of you keep coming to me telling me how you ARE reading it, and it makes me think of that scene in Julie and Julia when Julie started to get messages about her blog. Thank you for reading!!!

I don’t know about you, but It has been a wild 7 days for me—- I made the very hard decision to leave my full time job to pursue Ann Gottlieb Design. It is very bittersweet—- I have so many great great memories with the friends I have made, and we have had SUCH fun travels together, and I cannot believe how much I have learned. My heart strings are being pulled!!!!!!

OK— back to residential design trends! I came across an article in HOUZZ covering a few big themes from a KBIS (kitchen and bath show) that we should expect to see more of in the coming year/s. Here is a rundown of the big ticket items:

Light countertops made of engineered marble quartz

  • Rise in touchless kitchen faucets (YES I need this!)

  • Two toned colored or textured kitchen faucets

  • Slim kitchen appliances

  • New customized panels from BlueStar for refrigerators and ranges

  • Cladding full walls and surfaces with a thin Dekton material (I have been doing this for years!)

  • New neutrals in tiles— think light green to emphasize biophilia

  • Refreshed look to traditional tile shapes— my favorite is Cle Tile

  • Exploration with new tile shapes

Some of these trends have been coming for years, but good things for you all to keep on the lookout!

Keep me posted with any questions you have, and have a great week!!!

xoxo—Ann
